Walking by the Spirit and not by our flesh.

God told me to restart, so I did.

Today on the podcast we had an amazing conversation with Zack Williams, AKA 33blurr! And on this episode with took a deep dive into what it truly means to walk by the spirit not in our own flesh. Like y’all! God has been so good to me! So much so that I now have a better understanding of how to walk as a follower of Christ, and hey! It’s definitely not within my own strength.

This is what I have gained…

We… Need… To… Give… God… Control! Like no for real think about it for a second, If God told us these words in Genesis 1:28 that we should:

“BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY, AND REPLENISH THE EARTH, AND SUBDUE IT: AND HAVE DOMINION OVER THE FISH IN THE SEA THE FOWL OF THE AIR, AND OVER EVERY LIVING THING THAT MOVETH UPON THE EARTH.”

What does this mean? It means that God has given us control over this earth, and that we have the freewill to take dominion, subdue, and replenish the earth. Well, this then means that God will not act against the freewill He has given to us, although, we must submit to Him so that He may intervene in our lives.

With our interview today! Our good brother Zack Williams experienced this with his music, yes his music was very successful without God as the true center, and yes his music flopped when he then fully submitted himself to God, well why!?

It’s because 33blurr had freewill and the control to be successful without God, although he was not receiving the fullness of this life (Psalms 103, NKJV), Yes, he did the party scene, he even pursued working out to overcome his insecurity of how he looked.

But when he focused in on God! Then God shifted the goal post to be for His glory and not for the glory of 33blurr, and this is why 33Blurr’s music just was not popping after he submitted his life under Christ!

See when we have control, we get the glory, and we must walk by the spirit and trust in the Father! Because when God gets the glory! Then that is a true testament of how we should carry our lives as Christ followers!

As Isaiah 6:2-5 says:

Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;

The whole earth is full of His glory!”

4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 So I said:

 “Woe is me, for I am [a]undone!

Because I am a man of unclean lips,

And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;

For my eyes have seen the King,

The Lord of hosts.

So all in all, God always gets the praise and glory from your story! So give it up! Make that decision to walk by the spirit and not by the flesh, and trust me! you will see the blessings of God just pour into your life like never before.

2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

”Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (for we walk by faith, not by sight:) we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.“

‭‭

Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” Those are some of the truest words I have ever heard! In this way, “Walk by faith, not by sight” means, even though you might not be able to see where you’re going, you keep moving!

In Exodus 13, God is leading the Israelites out of Egypt. Instead of taking the easier, more direct route that they were more familiar with, God delivers them through the wilderness.

You see, God knew what was ahead. He knew that the better journey for the people was the one that, to them, seemed harder and more treacherous. Moses and the Israelites, whom he was leading, did not know which way to go as they walked along, but God made his presence known.

When I lost my sight, I quickly became a lot less concerned with how I looked. Sure, I still wanted my hair to look nice and for my clothes to match, but I no longer spent what seemed like hours in front of the mirror making sure my makeup was perfect and each strand of hair was in the right place. It just was not as important to me anymore.

Like 2 Corinthians 5 tells us, this worldly body is really just a tent anyway. We have a much better dwelling place waiting for us in heaven, and what we “see” is not going to get us there, but what is in our hearts surely will.

So, walking by faith and not by sight means that we live today according to God’s promises, even though we cannot see them, and not according to the temporary, arbitrary things that our eyes often focus on here on earth.

When we are facing something difficult and we don’t seem to get any relief from the pain, worries, or anxieties that it brings, even after praying relentlessly, it can be easy to feel as though God has abandoned us. I prayed constantly for healing after I lost my sight, and still do, but I still cannot see. Does that mean that God was not or is not working in my life? No way

Walking by faith, not by sight means that, even though we may not see God working right now, we trust and believe that he is preparing us for blessings and relief from what we are facing somewhere down the road.

It means that we keep rejoicing and praising Him through the hard times, knowing that God is still in control.

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.” (1 Peter 1:8)
