On this week’s episode of The Purposeful podcast, our host Terri Wright dives deep into the topic of idolatry. Yikes! Yes, idolatry is a huge dilemma of today’s society and sometimes we just might miss the idols that we uphold, yee-yee-yee! I hear you, “I’m a Christian! I don’t have any idols,” Well let’s break this down for a second and let me challenge you.

Look, Idolatry is truly rampant in the world today, from social media outlets to even the dreams & visions that God has given you! Yes, that can be an idol as well, need proof? Well I’m so glad you are a sceptic.

Consider this new podcast with Terri Wright, here we are highlighting the story of Abraham and his son, his only son Issac that is. Now in this story God has promised Abraham to be quote-on-quote The Father of many Nations, though bro is of old age without a child!? Hmm, something is not adding up here Lord.

Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of [b]many nations. No longer shall your name be called [c]Abram, but your name shall be [d]Abraham; for I have made you a father of [e]many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.

Genesis 17:3-6

Now! I said that Issac was Abraham’s only son, well… yea, that was not true, you see since (Then) Abram and Sarai had no children, they got a tad bit restless in chapter 16 via a planned action that Sarai formed for her husband to have relations with her maid Hagar, yup! They went against the Will of God whew! That happened and the world is still at odds because that happened, but hey, you can read this story for yourself to see how juicy it truly gets!

Although how does this relate with us having Idols?

Two reasons…
